Blutonium. I know it sounds like some undiscovered element but it is in fact a delicious energy drink. A company named Folsom Distributing out of Illinois are the people behind this oddly, yet unique named energy drink. Let's take a look at what Blutonium is all about.
The Look: Blutonium comes in 5 flavors (or at least that is how many I was sent for review). The flavor I will be checking out today is Waterberry which is a hybrid between watermelon and strawberry. When I first opened the box that the samples arrived in I was immediately impressed by the quality packaging. These bottles are done in a 12 oz glass bottle with a very attractive shrink wrap on them. On the front of the bottle they have the word Blutonium written across the bottle. I love how they cut out part of the word and allowed you to see the liquid inside. They also have little see through marking along the side that allow you to see how much liquid is left. The color scheme is done mostly in green and black that goes perfect together. Playing on the element theme they also have a picture of an atom with a B in the middle (standing for Blutonium I am assuming). The only negative thing I have about the bottle is the failure to list the caffeine content. Pictures don't really do the packaging justice on this one.

Taste: Just the name of the flavor made my mouth start to water before I even opened it. Combining watermelon and strawberry seems like a brilliant idea. Upon opening the bottle I get a strong scent of both individual flavors. This smells amazing and taste even better. The flavor is almost a Kool-Aid meets the sweetness of a Jolly Rancher mixture. I am rather excited to try the other two flavors after trying Waterberry. This is a drink you have to try to see how great the flavor is. There is absolutely no hint of caffeine bitterness anywhere in the drink.

Does It Work: First off I want to let you know that I finished the drink in about 7 minutes because of the incredible flavor. After I finished the bottle, I became energized within about 10-15 minutes. This wasn't an out of this world type of caffeine kick but it was certainly above your average energy drink. The morning seemed to fly by and before I knew it lunch time appeared. I would say I got between 3 and 4 hours worth of solid energy from the bottle. Powering each bottle of Blutonium Waterberry there are 140 calories, 40 g of sugar (cane sugar not HFCS), a good amount of select B vitamins, 150 mg of caffeine, 150% pantothenic acid. and even an enzyme blend.

Overall Thoughts: I had read a bit about the Blutonium line previously and it lived up to the hype. Blutonium has found a way to make an energy drink not taste anything like an energy drink. The taste of Blutnium Waterberry is easily in the top 5 tastiest energy drinks I have had. According to their website you can get a 12 pack of bottles for only 17.50 which is a hell of a deal. This is a drink that any true "caffeineaholic" needs to try out.
