Rockstar Pink

Rockstar has finally released 2 new drinks.  I managed to get my hands on both of them and today I will be taking on Rockstar Pink which seems to be a drink aimed at women.  Let's take a look at how this bright pink can stacks up.



The Look:  Well there are three things I noticed about Rockstar Pink almost immediately.  The first thing that caught my eye was the bright pink can (seriously you can't miss this when sitting on the shelf).  You need to be pretty secure in your manhood if you plan on toting around this bright pink can.  Secondly I noticed that the can is a slim 12 oz  instead of the usual 16 oz.  When I picked up the can I noticed a straw was attached to the back (along the lines of a Caprisun or juice box straw).  All these things actually work pretty well for a drink that is aimed at women.  Along with the bright pink can they also added a pink tab to the top.  Turning it around there is nutritional information and a passage about the drink.  As much as I want to hate the pink can, I can't.  Between the petite size of the drink and the way the color scheme goes together the can looks great.

Taste:  A pink energy drink that is designed for women.... If you guessed this is going to be berry flavored then you must be a freakin psychic.  Rockstar Pink has a very refreshing and lightly carbonated strawberry flavor to it.  I was sad that there is only 12 oz of this tasty liquid inside the can.  The drink might be sugar free but I could not tell at all.  Damn good job on the flavor here Rockstar!!!

Does It Work:  The fact it is a drink aimed at girls, I kind of figured that it wouldn't be overpowering in the kick department.  Rockstar only included 120 mg of caffeine in the can which isn't bad but I would of liked to of seen more.  Each can along with the 120 mg of caffeine contains 10 calories, 0 g of sugar, 100 % of 5 different B vitamins, 1000 mg of taurine, and 100 mg of ginseng root extract.  I drank the entire can down rather quickly (and yes I used the straw... don't judge me) in about 15 minutes or so.  After drinking it I was filled with a mild energy boost that was just a touch above average.  Considering the target audience, this is probably just the right amount of kick.

Overall Thoughts:  First off let me say again how great this drink taste.  This was one of the tastiest drinks I have had in a while and the fact it is sugar free is even better.  The can is a bit on the extreme side with the hot pink but it serves its purpose.  If you see one of these in the store I can easily recommend trying one, if just for the taste alone.
