Today I am coming at you with a newly released drink, Lighter Spider. The original version of the drink is just called Spider but this is the Sugar Free Version. Let's see if Lighter Spider can spin me a web of energy this morning.
The Look: The can is done in a yellow and black color scheme. First thing I notice is the really cool yellow spider image they have on the front. Underneath that we get the name of the drink, Lighter Spider. Kind of taking a background to the bold yellow spider there is another image of a spider done in grey that covers the majority of the front of the can. On top of the can we get the slogan, "Get Bit, Stay Fit!". I love the slogan here it sticks with the whole theme and it rhymes (how can you go wrong with that). On the back of the can we get nutritional information as usual and a little passage about the Lighter Spider drink. The whole can just works really well together.

Taste: I open the can and I am greeted with a nice citrus smell. I take my first drink and am greeted with a nice lightly carbonated citrus. The best way I can describe this drink is a Sprite Zero mixed with a splash of orange soda. None of the flavors are to strong and the carbonation level is very minimal. I think they did a great job on the flavor of this.

Does It Work: Lighter Spider has a pretty nice energy blend going in each can. The drink is powered by: 0 calories, 0 sugars, 200% of B2, 200% of B3, 200% B5, 400% B6, 500% B12, 2000mg of taurine, 240mg of caffeine, 50mg of l-carnitine, 50mg of L-glutamine, 200mg of ginseng, and 200mg of guarana. I usually find 200mg of caffeine in the average drink so 240mg is a pleasant addition to this drink. I polished off the can in about 20 minutes and I was hit with a very nice energy boost this morning. I was feeling very tired this morning and this completely snapped me out of it. You can expect a good 4 hour type of kick out of this can with no jitters and no crash.

Overall Thoughts: Well I still hate spiders, but I now love Spider Energy Drink. The can is pretty wicked looking, the taste is very good, and the buzz is well above average. If you can located one of these drinks I suggest you pick one up. They have a pretty cool website (which sticks to the whole spider theme) located at: Spider Energy. If I were to find these at a store next to the Red Bulls and Monsters, I would be putting my money down on the Spider. Give one a try and as the slogan says, "Get Bit, Stay Fit!". Let me know your thoughts!
