Penguin Mints
Back when I was a huge gamer, I brought 2 things to every LAN party: Bawls and Penguin Mints. At that time those were considered the ultimate source of caffeine along with Jolt if you could find it. Nothing like the good ol' days of staying up all night fragging people without any other worries.

Kick Brix Energy Gummies
I have mentioned in another review, I really like gummie bears. They are my weakness in the candy/food world. There is just something about them that just brings a smile to my face. It might be biting their heads off or feeling like I am god over the weak little gummie bears. When I found there is a caffeinated gummie that promises the power of an energy shot, you can bet I was going to review it. Let's see how Kick Brix score on the reviews.

Loud Truck Gummies
Sweet sweet gummi bears oh how I love thee. I know some people have a weakness for chocolate, but I have a weakness for gummi bears (gummi worms too). When I heard that they made caffeinated gummi bears, a tear almost formed in my eye from joy. Today we will be looking at Loud Truck Energy Fueled Gummies. These are gummi bears with an attitude.
Taste: The flavor is labeled as Citrus Blast on these gummies. That is a pretty good description. I would say the flavor is mostly orange with a hint of other citrus in there. There is a slight almost medicinal taste in there (maybe from the caffeine) but it is not bad at all. Honestly these taste just a like a gummi bear.
(9 out of 10)
Does It Work: So each 1 oz pack of gummies contains 60 calories, 13g of sugar, 375% Vitamin C, niacin, B12, Taurine, 32mg of caffeine, and a few other energy producing ingredients. So I finished off each gummi bear (biting the head off first and the eating the rest, don't judge me...), there were 10 in total in the package I had. As you can see there is not a large amount of caffeine in the bag, but it is a pleasant addition to such a great candy. The energy amount is equivalent to about what you might get out of a Coke or Pepsi. What I find best to do with these are to eat them with an energy drink or something else caffeinated because by theme selves they don't do much.
Overall Thoughts: I don't really mind that these don't give you some super human energy. I am just happy that companies are starting to think outside of the box and learning that caffeine does indeed make everything better. You can check them out on the web (and even see the new packaging) at : Loud Truck Gummi. I like the idea behind these a bunch. Sure I wish they had more caffeine in them but I am very glad to accept them for what they are: a delicious snack with a bonus of some added caffeine.
The Look: I am going to review the packaging based on the sample I received. It is a nice package that gets the point across of what is inside. They went with a mostly white package with a bunch of information that almost clutters the package. They have an orange on the front to represent the flavor, a truck with a PA system graphic to represent the company name, and a dragon? in the background. I am not to big on the packaging of these. That being said I got a sneak peak of the new package design and I hope to get to review them when they are completed. The new package jumps out at you with a design really grabs your attention. (Hint: Remember the Grateful Dead Bears? Yeah .....).

Crunk Energy Stix
What time is it? It is time to get Crunk again. Wait where is the can at? Where is that nice 16 oz of Crunk goodness? Fear not my caffeinenated friends, Crunk has a new product ready to step up to the plate. Time for some Crunk Energy goodness in powdered form.
The Look: Crunk Energy Stix come at us in a nice 3g tear away package. The package is done in a nice grey and orange color theme with black lettering. They kept the actual package pretty simple. On the front it has the word CRUNK in bold letters covering a big portion of the package. Next to the name we get the flavor listed, orange. Turning it over there is directions in case you were confused about how to use Crunk Energy Stix. The cardboard container the stix come in has a bunch more information on it. There are two slogan worth noting on the cardboard container. The first one is "Instant Rush! No Crash!". Secondly we get, "Get Crunk". Both of these work and they work well. The only thing that looks out of place on the package is the Rolling Stones like tongue on the front, but it adds a visual to those unaware of what the product is for. Also when judging the look, let's not forget the convenience that Crunk Energy Stix have. You can bring these anywhere and you can fit quite a bit into a small area.
(9 out of 10)
Taste: When it comes to these products that you add to your tongue, they are either hit or miss. I am happy to say Crunk Energy Stix are a success. I wouldn't really compare the taste to an orange Pixie Stix but rather to a mild Tang. There is no sourness at all here but more a nice orange sweetness. There is a very very light caffeine taste in the mouth after all the powder is absorbed but it is hardly noticeable.
(9.5 out of 10)
Does It Work: We all know Crunk really likes to put some energy in their products. This product is no different. First off we get 100mg of caffeine (that is a bunch of caffeine for such a small package). Crunk doesn't stop there....we also get their "everything but the kitchen sink" energy blend (B3, B6, B12, Guarana, Ginkgo Biloba, Skull Cap, White Willow, Ashwagandha, and Milk Thistle). Crunk must have one of those shrink rays from "Honey I Shrunk The Kids" because I have no idea how they crammed all that in here and still made it taste good. On top of all that there is only 10 calories and 2g of sugar. Expect to get woken up and woken up quick after downing one of these little treats. There is easily over 3 hours of energy inside one of these packages and you get 2 packages when you buy Crunk Energy Stix.
(9 out of 10) That is just for one, if you do two of them expect to be Crunk'd up
Overall Thoughts: I have mentioned before I have a caffeine stash in my desk drawer and in my car. Well know all the other items in the stash have a new friend. Once again Crunk has blown me away with their product. They managed to make a nice package, it has a great taste, and it will energize you fast and keep you energized. As usual you can check out Crunk on the web at: Crunk Energy. You really need to try out this product to see how awesome it is. So go now and get yourself some Crunk Energy Stix and make sure to thank me afterwards.

Foosh Energy Mints
Sometimes I like to get energy but I don't want to drink 8,16, or 24 oz of an energy drinks. I have a few products that I usually reach for on those days. Foosh Energy Mints are such a great way to get caffeine when an energy drink is not available or not practical. Here is my review of Foosh Mints.
The Look: Foosh Energy Mints comes in two different size packages. There is a cardboard 6 count package as well as a 12 count metal tin. Both of these containers look nice and give you all the information you could need. On the front it states "1 mint = 1 cup of coffee". Then to elaborate even further it states "seriously caffeinated" under that. Flipping either container over there is nutritional information as well as a description of Foosh. I really like the fact that these containers are so small you can take them anywhere.
(7.5 out of 10)
Taste: They taste just like a mint. Not a weak peppermint candy you find in the candy bowl but a serious mint like an Altoid or something similar. If someone had just given one of these to me I wouldn't of even known there was any caffeine in one. I think they did a really good job of covering up the caffeine here.
(8.5 out of 10)
Does It Work: You wouldn't think these little mints would be strong, but you would be wrong. Each sugar free mint is packed with 100mg of caffeine as well as a small amount of vitamins. I have tried these on multiple occasions and each time the effect is always good. Sometimes when I am really tired I can grab one to have on my drive to work (nothing like arriving to work awake and with fresh breath). I have also used one when I go to take a test at college (Nice to have the caffeine it seems to help me concentrate without going overboard on energy). These would also be great for any place you didn't want to have to carry around a drink.
(8 out of 10)
Overall Thoughts: This is a great way to get your daily caffeine. Even in the 6 count pack there is 600 mg of caffeine available to you in a tiny package you can take anywhere. Really this product has so many things that make it a great choice: convenient size, 0 sugar, 5 calories each, affordable, etc. I I know that ThinkGeek carries them and you can also them out on the web at: Vroom Foods. I recommend this product highly and suggest you should get some and see for yourself.

Encaff Energy Stix
I have to admit after my last review of a powdered caffeine product I am less than enthused to try another. My love for caffeine and energy takes over though and here is my review for your reading pleasure.
The Look: Encaff Energy Stix come in two different size packs. You can get a single pack with just one pouch or you can get a double with two pouches. I really like the tongue with the powder being poured on it that is used on the package. It kind of reminds me of the Rolling Stones emblem. Now on to the actual package that contains the powder. In a yellow font on the front we get the name of the product, Energy Stix. Under that there is a nice little slogan, "...the Next Generation of Energy!". I like the slogan here I think it works pretty well. I wish they would of put that little "Rolling Stones" tongue on this package too but then again there is not a bunch of room here. I think with the room available the right things were put on here. Flipping the package over there is directions, an ingredient list, and some contact information. If you want the nutritional information it is on the cardboard container they come in.
(8.5/10) on packaging (bumped it up because the portability factors is a huge plus)
Taste: This is the part where I am scared because of my Nixie Tube Review. Time to rip open one of the ends of the package and see how it taste. The flavor of these is labeled as black cherry and that is a pretty good description. After I poured some in my mouth I waited and waited for that caffeine taste. Wow, they have actually covered up 95% of the caffeine taste here. There is a very slight aftertaste but honestly it is not bad at all. I shared a few packages with coworkers and friends and they all had the same reaction to the taste, WOW. To be able to cover up 75mg of caffeine in such a small container is impressive! Good job Encaff!
(9/10) on Taste
Does It Work: This is powered by 75mg of caffeine per stick and 3g of sugar. Basically one of these is on par with the majority of 8oz energy drinks on the market. If you are extremely sensitive to caffeine have one stick and if you require more then take two. I usually drink 16oz energy drinks so I decided to take two of these. Very shortly after taking these down I got hit with a great buzz here. This stuff doesn't have to make a lot of stops like drinks so it is in your system QUICK. I had a great caffeine high for over 4 hours with no crash. If you want energy fast this stuff delivers. Other people I gave a few samples to just had one and seemed pretty impressed as well.
One package - (7.5/10) on Kick
Two packages - (9/10) on Kick
Final Thoughts: Ok this product made me a believer that caffeinated pixie stix can work. I threw a couple of these in my car for when I need a quick caffeine jolt. I also got a couple stashed in my desk at work for when I need to wake up quickly. These things have so many great uses because of their portability and speed at which they work. They are also low calorie and low carb so they don't add to the waistline. The girls that I had sample these said they loved them because they didn't have to consume 8 or 16 oz of liquid and because of the 10 calories per stick. You can find information about Encaff as well as purchase some at: Encaff Energy. Some convenience stores sell them as well so be on the look out. I would use this product again and recommend if you run across them to buy some.

Nixie Tubes (Adult Pixie Stix)
This is another review I had written a while back when I was still deciding whether or not to make a review site. I got these from ThinkGeek.com, they are very similar to Nuclear Energy Powder (I will be putting up the review for these once I have tried the other 2 flavors).
The Look: Thinkgeek did a good job on the packaging of these. The vial is very sturdy they come in and the lettering matches the color of the flavor. I like the fact the opening is bigger than a regular Pixie Stix because it doesn't get stuck in the end as easily from moisture. Packaging is simple and to the point.
(7/10) on packaging
Taste: There are 5 different flavors of these out right now (Cherry, Lemon/Lime, Fruit Punch, Watermelon, and Blue Raspberry). There are really 2 stages to the taste here. You have the initial taste which I would give an 8 to, but unfortunately you have a very bitter caffeine aftertaste that really lowers the score. Honestly the aftertaste really killed these things for me. I would rate the best tasting as Blue Raspberry but I am just going to rate them all together.
(5/10) on taste
Does It Work: Each of these tubes packs 100mg of Caffeine. The caffeine bypasses your stomach so it hits you pretty fast. If you down one of these quickly (which I would recommend cause the aftertaste sucks) you can expect to be jolted awake pretty quickly. Unfortunately because these are just powered by caffeine and sugar the buzz does not last very long. I would say I got possibly 2 hours of energy out of these.
(6.5/10) on Kick
Final Thoughts: I love the concept of these. The are very portable and provide a fast buzz. Would I eat them again ? Probably not, the bitterness at the end really killed them for me. Just recently I got my hands on the Nuclear Powder(review coming soon) though and I think they are a much better alternative. If you happen to see these at the store, depending on price you might want to check them out but be warned the bitter aftertaste is BAD!

Geeks!!!
I was excited when Thinkgeek introduced these. I love caffeinated novelty products. What a great concept take a Nerd and coat it in caffeine.
The Look: These have a nice little package. It says caffeinated right above the product name. On the back it list it's ingredients, the amount of caffeine, and even their website. I think they could of done a little bit more on the packaging but it still looks nice (just a little plain).
(6.5/10) on packaging
Taste: There are 2 different flavors currently available. Strawberry and Lemonade. The lemonade is my favorite of the two but the strawberry is good as well. When you first put them in your mouth the flavor is a little bland but that changes as soon as you bite into them. There is no caffeine after taste from them at all. Once you start chewing them it taste just like a nerd, you would never know there was caffeine in there unless someone told you.
(8/10) on taste
Does It Work: So how do these perform on kick? Not bad. There is 100mg of caffeine per container. It is very easy to eat these in one sitting. The kick is nothing spectacular but it is a nice little jolt of energy. I find these are great for a afternoon caffeine jolt.
(6.5/10) on kick.
Final Thoughts: I like these little candies quite a bit. I would not recommend them for a morning caffeine injection, but they are a nice little pick me up. If you happen to swing by Thinkgeek, give them a try for yourself. I would easily eat these again.
