Red Bull Lime Edition

You cannot discuss energy drinks without bringing up Red Bull.  They were one of the first Energy Drinks to burst on the scene and gain popularity. So when Red Bull comes out with a new drink, people pay attention.  Red Bull recently came out with 2 new sugar free options: Lime Edition and Purple Edition.  Today we will be taking a look at the Lime Edition.

The Look:  Red Bull knows packaging and it does it very well.  It's instantly recognizable that it's a Red Bull even at a quick glance.  The green with the metallic really pop and make this can beautiful when sitting on the shelf.   On the back is the nutritional info and the usual ingredient list.
(9 out of 10)

Taste: The flavor is listed as Limeade and that's exactly what it reminds me of.  The closest thing I can compare it to is a generic Diet 7UP or a generic Diet Sprite.  The flavor is nothing special and is easily forgettable.  I think Red Bull played it super safe with the flavor.
(7 out of 10) Good but nothing great

Does It Work:  The formula here is the tried and true Red Bull Formula.  It's a great energy drink for a mild boost and it also makes a great mixer.  If you are looking for something strong, there are much better options on the market.  That being said, Red Bull is great for the audience it's aimed at.
(7 out of 10)

Overall Thoughts: I am really happy to see Red Bull coming out with more sugar free options.  Lime Edition is a good tasting drink that packs the usual Red Bull kick.  If you like new drinks or are looking for a good sugar free option, then check Red Bull Lime Edition out.

Scivation Quake 10.0

Since I started my fitness journey, I have been really enjoying Pre-Workouts.  A good pre-workout will amp you up with energy/focus, and help you get a kill pump in the gym.  Today's review is the new Pre-Workout from Scivation  Quake 10.0.

The Look:  Scivation did a kill job here on the packaging.  The color scheme works very well to help it stand out on the shelves.  The key ingredients are listed right on the front of the label so you know exactly what you are getting and the full nutritional panel still resides on the back.  The package is very uncluttered and just looks really well done.
(10 out of 10)

Taste: The taste is labeled as Lemon Drop and that exactly what you get upon first sip.  Unfortunately there is a slightly bitter aftertaste but it's nothing that is a deal breaker.  Is this going to win an award for the tastiest pre-workout on the market? No but it's also far from the worst.
(8 out of 10)

Profile: The profile on Quake 10.0 is quite impressive.  The label is mostly open, so you know exactly what you are getting.  You can also dose it at one or two scoops depending on your preference.  For me I found my sweet spot to be about 1.5 scoops.

At the full dose of 2 scoops you get 7 grams of Xtend BCAAs, 6 grams of L-Citrulline, 3 grams of L-tyrosin, 2 grams of Peak02, 1.5 grams of Arganine Nitrate, 1 grams of capros and 350 mg of caffeine.  As you can see the formula is very well rounded and  provides a nice boost in every department.
Energy (9.5 out of 10) at 2 scoops
Focus (7.5 out of 10) at 2 scoops
Pump (9 out of 10) at 2 scoops

Overall Thoughts:  In my opinion Scivation has a real winner on their hands with Quake 10.0
You get a well rounded pre-workout that actually gets better with prolonged use.  The energy is top notch and I can honestly say I did not have a bad workout any of the times I have used it.  If you are looking for a new pre-workout to help take your workout to the next level, check out Scivation Quake 10.0, you won't regret it.

If you have tried it already, tell me in the comments below.

Energy Shisha

Sometimes I run across a product that is truly unique.  In a world filled with energy drinks, energy shots, energy candy, energy gum, and almost anything else you can think of, it is hard to find anything new and innovative.  Today I bring you a review of Energy Shisha.  In short terms, this is a caffeine infused, nicotine free, e-cig.

The Look: Energy Shisha comes in a brightly colored cardboard box that is beautifully decorated with lots of product information, ingredient list, and warnings.  Taking the Energy Shisha out of the box, I was impressed with the build quality of the Energy Shisha.  It a bit smaller than an average e-cig and had a very nice weight to it.  There is a red dot on one end to signify where to inhale the vapor at and the other end has an awesome light that lights up every time you take a puff.
(9 out of 10)

Taste: The flavor is labeled as "energy drink" flavored and that is a perfect description.  The flavoring is identical to Red Bull or any other similar energy drink.  I actually found my self puffing on the Energy Shisha just to enjoy the flavor it offered.  There is no harsh smoke flavor like I had thought there would of been when I first received it.
(9.5 out of 10)

Does It Work:  First the short answer: yes it work.  It works quickly and last for about 25-35 minutes.
Energy Shisha is rated to hold 300 puffs in each unit.  They suggest no more than 5, 3 seconds puffs at a time and no more than 20 puffs in an hour.  Supposedly each Shisha Stick offers the same kick found in 15 cans of energy drinks.  Each time I tried Energy Shisha I got a very nice and pleasant buzz that last around a half an hour each time.  It wasn't a very strong buzz but it was very noticeable and I found it to be a very pleasant experience each time.
(7.5 out of 10) Based on a dose of 5 puffs

Overall Thoughts:  My girlfriend and I constantly "fought" over Energy Shisha.  We really enjoyed it while having a few drinks with friends.  I didn't actually count the number of puffs but I will say I was rather impressed with how long it lasted before the light on the end started flashing to let me know the contents had run out.

I would easily buy this product again and I highly recommend it.  My only gripe is that the shipping is expensive overseas but that isn't a fault of the company.  As always if you have tried Energy Shisha or plan on trying it, let me know your comments below.

Xyience Xenergy + Lemonade (Pineapple)

It has been a while since I have had a new drink from Xyience.  When one of the reps from the company contacted me about trying the new Xenergy + Lemonade line, I was more than happy to check them out.  I have reviewed multiple Xyience drinks, and so far I have been impressed by every one of them.  Let's see if Xyience can continue to impress with this new line of drinks.

Bing Black

Almost 2 years ago I reviewed an energy drink called Bing.  It was at the time and still is one of the best cherry flavored energy drinks I have ever tried.  Recently I saw Bing had a new flavor coming out so I contacted them to see if I could acquire some for review.  Luckily for me, Bing was very happy to have someone try out the newest addition to the Bing family and sent me some samples to try out.

The Look: The look of Bing Black is very similar to the original Bing.  The colors have been inverted so the can is primarily black with red and gold lettering.  For me this color scheme works very well and is very pleasant to the eye. On the back of can you will find the supplement facts and warning label (with the caffeine content clearly listed).
(9 out of 10)

Taste: Bing set the bar high with their original drink so I had very high hopes for Bing Black.  I have never had a blackberry flavored energy drink that I can remember so I was not sure what to expect.  When I took the first sip I was greeted with the taste of actual blackberries (guessing this is due to the 5% juice that is added)  and a good amount of carbonation.  Just like the original Bing, Bing Black scores very well in the taste department.
(8.5 out of 10)

Does It Work:  Each can of Bing Black is powered by 122 mg of caffeine, 8 grams of sugar, vitamin C, several B vitamins, ginkgo biloba, ginseng root extract, beta-glucan, guarana seed extract, acai berry extract, and flax seed extract.  You get all this with only 40 calories and no high fructose corn syrup.
After drinking the 12 ounce can I got a very nice pick me up that lasted around 3 hours with no crash at all.
(8.5 out of 10)

Overall Thoughts: With Bing Black, Bing has proven that they are not a "one trick pony".  They took such a unique flavor like blackberry and made it work very well in an energy drink.  The packaging looks fantastic and the kick is pretty solid as well.  If you are looking for a low calorie, low carb drink that will get you moving, I highly recommend giving Bing Black a shot.
