Chocomallows

A while back I was lucky enough to get to review Stay Puft marshmallows.  They were simply amazing: an great tasting marshmallow with a pretty good dose of caffeine.  I didn't think it could get any better until I was lucky enough to get to try out Chocomallows.  They stepped it up and added 100 mg of caffeine inside each marshmallow and gave it a chocolate flavor.  Let's see how they score.

The Look:  Chocomallows come in a resealable bag that has 12 marshmallows in it.  On the front of the packaging they keep it simple with just the basics: product name, company name, and even listing the caffeine content (I wish every company would do this!).  On the back of the bag they have a passage about the company, nutritional facts, and ingredients.  The packaging is simple but serves every purpose it should.

Taste: When I opened up the bag I was greeted immediately by the strong scent of cocoa.  I then reached in and took my out my first "mallow" to sample.  The texture of each Chocomallows is very soft and spongy with a little bit of a crunchy texture inside each marshmallow from the cocoa nibs. The cocoa flavoring they use covers up the caffeine surprisingly well. For cramming 100 mg of caffeine in each of these, I am shocked they were able to make these taste so damn good.

Does It Work:  First I want to list the simple but wonderful ingredient list of Chocomallows:
Sugar, water, cocoa, cocoa nibs, k-gelatin, potato starch, egg white, caramel, milk powder, caffeine, vanilla, and cinnamon.  Do you know how shocked I am to try new products where I can pronounce and identify every ingredient?
So powering each Chocomallow you get 50 calories, 2 grams of fat, 18 mg of sodium, 7 grams of sugar, 1 gram of protein, and of course 100 mg of caffeine.  One of these "mallows" provided a nice boost of energy but I found 2 to be the sweet spot to give me a very substantial energy jolt.  The energy lasted for around 2 hours and there was a very slight crash at the end.

Overall Thoughts: Caffex has created a solid product with Chocomallows.  You get a delicious tasting marshmallow with an added dose of caffeine.  What's not to love?  If you are looking for a great alternative to energy drinks or coffee then you should check out Chocomallows for yourself.
