Buzz Bites Energy Chews

The company behind Foosh Energy Mints recently contacted me about checking out another one of their products, Buzz Bites Energy Chews.  Well as you could of guessed I said yes.  I will be reviewing both flavors here: Chocolate and Mint Chocolate.



The Look:  Buzz Bites come at us in beautiful tin containers.  Depending on the flavor, the color scheme differs.  The Chocolate one uses a red background whereas the Mint Chocolate has a green background.  On the front you get things like the company name, the flavor, and how many pieces are in each container (6).  They also have a little diagram that says 1 chew = 1 cup of coffee (luckily on the back it states the amount of caffeine, 100mg per chew).  You can find nutritional information, a passage about the company, and an ingredient list on the back of the tin.  These containers are pretty nice plus they are reusable afterwards.

Taste:  I have no idea what to expect from a Chocolate Chew.  Caffeine can be a very tricky thing to hide the flavor of. 
 Mint Chocolate:  The mint chocolate has a nice mint chocolate taste to it.  They did a great job of balancing the chocolate with just the right amount of mint.  I also think the mint does a great job of hiding any of the caffeine that the chocolate didn't mask.  The consistency is great, it stays chewy the whole time and does not crumble.  Very tasty.

 Chocolate:  With the Chocolate ones they went with a sweeter tasting chocolate.  It works very well since there is no mint to cover up the caffeine on this one.  Surprisingly I was not able to taste any caffeine at all in this chew either.  Just like the Mint, the chew stayed together the whole time and was good until the last bit.

Does It Work:  So what powers Buzz Bites?  Inside each chew there is: 100mg of caffeine, 25 calories, 3g of sugar, thiamin, niacin, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12.  After chewing one of these I was more alert within 5 minutes.  After about 10 minutes I had a buzz easily equivalent to a good energy drink.  If you require a bit more extreme buzz then chew 2 of these and you will be pretty wired.  I experienced no crash from these and had a solid amount of energy for a good 3-4 hours.

Overall Thoughts:  If you are a chocolate lover then you will love these things.  You get all the benefits of a cup of coffee or an energy drink in a chew the size of a Starburst.  The tin is ideal for throwing in your pocket, your desk drawer, or where ever else you want.  You get 600mg of caffeine inside one of these tins for a very good price.  You can check them out on the web at Vroom Foods , where you can read about them and even purchase them.  These can also be purchased from my good friend at KingofCaffeine.com.
