IronClad Black & Blue Blend

IronClad recently contacted me to tell me that they have redone the formula on the Black & Blue Blend.  They asked if I would like to review it and of course I said yes.  Yesterday afternoon I had a package sitting on my doorstep containing the new blend.  The first time I sampled the drink it just seemed unfinished so I am interested to see how the drink scores now. 

The Look: They went with a silver can here with black, blue, and white lettering. On the back as is usual, we get the nutritional information as well as a short description about the company. They also tell about their promotion going where you can collect the tabs off the can and exchange them for some gear. Pretty nice can here.

Taste:  Opening it up I am greeted with the same smell as the first time I tried the drink.  This is not a bad thing as the smell is very nice.  It has a very nice blueberry scent that smells a bunch like actual blueberries.  This is the moment of truth....I take my first drink and am greeted with a great blueberry taste.  Wait there is actually a sweetness present this time.  This is a great drink now that they have worked out the kinks.  If you like blueberry you will love the taste of this and the best part is there is no sugar.

Does It Work:  Remember IronClad is not only an energy drink but it is also full of electrolytes and potassium to help your body stay hydrated.  Together this is a great combo that is not only refreshing but gives you a good boost of energy.  Inside each can there are 20 calories, 0 g of sugar, vitamins B6 and B12, calcium, potassium, magnesium, 2000mg of taurine, 154 mg of caffeine, guarana, and a few other energy producing ingredients.  After drinking this I felt awake and hydrated.  The alertness lasted almost 4 hours with no crash.

Overall Thoughts:  I am very pleased that IronClad decided to contact me about the new formula.  I love sugar free energy drinks and they did great on this one.  The blueberry taste here is fantastic and the energy blend got me going.  The added electrolytes are great for anyone playing sports or doing any type of outdoor activity.  Plus it is sugar free so you don't have to put those extra calories into your body.  I can now say that the entire IronClad lineup has left me impressed.  If you get the chance, give any of the 3 flavors a chance and let me know what you think.  You can check them out on the web at: IronClad Energy.
