Neuro Fuel

Neuro Fuel is labeled as a "mood enhancement formula".  I have had a few energy drinks so far that promise to enhance your mood and so far they have all did well.  I will be reviewing the original formula and the sugar free formula in this review.

The Look:  The original can looks pretty boring in comparison to the sugar free one.

Original: The original can is done in a blue can with little pictures of molecules almost the same color in the background.  I had a very hard time even noticing the background because the color scheme makes them blend in.   They also have a "new improved flavor" note on the front of the can.

Sugar Free: The sugar free version is done in a white can with blue molecule images in the background.  This color scheme works a bunch better and makes for a rather nice looking can.  They also did the Neuro Fuel logo different on this version and made it diagonal across the front.

Taste:  Neuro Fuel is the first drink I have had where the sugar free is the definite winner in taste.  There is a huge difference between the two.

Original: The first thing I noticed when I opened the can was the vitamin scent.  I have experienced this before so I wasn't worried to much.  The first part of the drink is pretty good with a citrus meets Red Bull flavor with a touch of pineapple thrown in.  Unfortunately there is an aftertaste that really made me not enjoy the drink.

Sugar Free: The sugar free has the same flavor with citrus/Red Bull flavor.  Oddly enough there is no aftertaste on the sugar free variety which is odd.  I enjoyed the flavor of the sugar free so much that I was wishing the can was bigger.

Does It Work:  Both varieties did perform equally when it came to how they worked.  Neuro Fuel is powered by 100% vitamin C, 6 different B vitamins,127.5 mg of caffeine, taurine, choline, L-carnitine, DL-Phenyalanine, piracetam, glucuronolactone, and inositol.  The original has 21 g of sugar and 100 calories and the sugar free is 10 calories and of course no sugar.  After drinking each I got a very nice boost from the energy ingredients and sure enough my mood was enhanced quite well.  The combo of energy plus the mood enhancement works very well and both lasted a good 3-4 hours with no crash.

Overall Thoughts:  The sugar free version easily gets my recommendation but the original still needs some work in my opinion.  If you are looking for a good energy drink with the added benefit of mood enhancement then this is a great option.
