Slap Frost

I haven't had a Slap in a while so I decided today would be a good day to revisit the lineup and try another flavor.  I really liked the Slap Frost Low Carb so today I am going to try out the original Slap Frost.  The novelty of Slap Frost is that is creates a menthol type of cooling effect in your throat as you drink it.

The Look:  Black and red are two of my favorite colors so I was really happy to see Slap Frost done in those colors. The middle part of the can is silver but they used the red/black color scheme on the bottom and the top.  In the middle we get the word SLAP and then in a much small font the have word Frost.  Turning the can around the is a cool passage about Slap as well as the usual nutritional information and ingredients.

Taste: Slap Frost has an energy drink taste (ie Red Bull) but at the same time it is slightly different.  The chilling ingredient they added is pretty neat and it really does cool down your throat.  There is the perfect about of carbonation and a great taste that really make this drink go down smooth and easy.  Also as with all the Slap drinks there is no nasty vitamin aftertaste.

Does It Work:  After drinking this down I got a great kick from it that is slightly above your average energy drink.  Inside each can there is 210 calories, 52 g of sugar, some B Vitamins, and their "Energy 9.0" blend (taurine, caffeine (200mg), and some other nice ingredients).  The kick lasted about 3-4 hours and there was no crash afterwards.

Overall Thoughts:  So far I have reviewed 3 different Slap Energy drinks and have been impressed each time.  They have a pretty cool can, a nice taste with a neat cooling sensation, and a buzz that gives you the energy you need.  This is an energy drink that gets my approval!

I think everyone could use a slap every once in a while.

Slap is the most heinous tasting liquid in all creation. I'd rather slam a quart of 10w40 Quaker State than ever try to choke down more Slap. Apparently the chemists behind this did not want to be roped in by the closed minded concept of "flavor", and instead decided to infuse it with a sensation. That sensation being the burning, choking, mentholated drowning feeling reminiscent of water-boarding/inhaling tear gas. Quite a show for the one dollar admission price. I've never left an energy drink unfinished before regardless of taste (even the organic chocolate energy shot that my mom bought because it was a healthy alternative) but I could not get through a third of a Slap without retching. I tried it on two separate occasions because I thought the first time I had a contaminated batch or something. But hey, if you enjoy an occasional glass of ice cold Liquid Plumber, then you hit the jackpot. Go stock up on Slap and enjoy your remaining hours on Earth.

The menthol reminds me of drinking robitussin

I love this stuff! It give me the energy without the crash. The taste is alittle rough to get used to, but its not that bad once you've drank a few. I buy this stuff by the case. I think its a great price ($9/ per 12 pack). and for what I pay, its worth fighting through the unique taste for the gentle energy kick.

I love slap frost for .98 cents a can no food dye low sodium it can't be beat. I like it better than Monster and Rock Star. It is better and cheaper a good combo I give it a 9.4 out of 10.
