Penguin Mints

Back when I was a huge gamer, I brought 2 things to every LAN party:  Bawls and Penguin Mints.  At that time those were considered the ultimate source of caffeine along with Jolt if you could find it.  Nothing like the good ol' days of staying up all night fragging people without any other worries.



The Look:  I love the metal tin that Penguin Mints comes in.  I don't know if it is because of the memories or the fact the hypnotic design with the penguin on the front kicks ass....either way great package.  After you are done with the mints the container is great to store all kinds of things in as well.

Taste:  These taste like great peppermints.  They are not overpowering and are a perfect size.  There is a reason I used to eat on these all night while clearing dungeons in the original Diablo and fragging people in some Quake Team Fortress.  They only thing that could make these better is if they were soft like dinner mints.

Does It Work:  Unfortunately in today's world Penguin Mints aren't nearly as strong as other products out there.  3 penguin mints contain about 21mg of caffeine.  Luckily there are 75 in each container so you can still get a pretty good buzz if you munch on enough.  If you are feeling brave like I was when I was gaming all night you can find some Bawls and have a great combo to get you through the night.

Overall Thoughts:  Sure in today's ever growing energy market Penguin Mints aren't at the top of the ladder.  That is alright though because I would easily buy these if I find them (which I still run across them frequently).  If you are an old school gamer like myself then you should revisit them and if you have never heard of them you should try them out for yourself.
