UP! Energy Shot

Energy shots are a great thing to have on hand when you want instant energy but you don't want to drink a full size energy drink. Today I will be reviewing an energy shot called UP!. It is available in two flavors and I will be looking at both of them in this review.

The Look:  Depending on the flavor, the color scheme defers a bit. Other than that both packages look alike. On the front of the shot they have the word UP! with an arrow pointing up in the "U". They also have a little picture on the front that shows you whatever fruit the shot is made to taste like. Flipping it over you will find nutritional facts and ingredients. There is nothing special about the bottle but there is also nothing wrong with the bottle either.

Taste:  I get worried when it comes to the taste of energy shots. There is a bunch of energy ingredients crammed into something only 2 oz, flavor can be tricky.
Grape:  The first flavor I tried was grape and it was very tasty. It has a nice fake candied grape flavor to it that went down nicely with no aftertaste.

Berry:  The berry flavored shot tasted good as well. The berry has a nice little sour bite to it that really added a bit more to the light flavor. There was also no nasty aftertaste to the berry shot.

Does It Work:  First a small gripe...I wish companies would start listing the caffeine content instead of the vague statement: "contains as much caffeine as a cup of coffee". All coffee has a different caffeine content so this line bothers me. (/end of rant). So what powers UP! Energy Shot? Inside each bottle there is 0 calories,100% niacin, 2000% vitamin B6, 8333% vitamin B12, and their energy blend (taurine, malic acid, caffeine, and other common ingredients). This shot started to work about 5-10 minutes after drinking it down. I got a nice energy boost that last about 4 hours with no crash. UP! stuck with conventional ingredients and it worked.

Overall Thoughts:  UP! Energy Shot did not bring anything new to the table but it was still a very nice energy shot. Sometimes sticking to the stuff that works is not a bad idea. I would of loved to of seen some other flavors besides berry and grape but they both tasted good and did what they were suppose to. If you happen to run across one of these shots go ahead and give it a try.
