Cocaine and Cocaine Mild

After trying and trying, I have finally found a way to get Cocaine.  Apparently due to some laws the sale of Cocaine is banned in Texas.  This made finding Cocaine energy drink harder than finding the actual drug.  Luckily I was able to get several cans of Cocaine and Cocaine Mild.

The Look:  Cocaine comes in a red 8 oz can and Cocaine mild comes in a blue can.  On the front of the can they have the word Cocaine in white lettering going vertically up the can.  In a small box on the side of the can they have one of my favorite passages ever about a company:
"WARNING:  This message is for the people who are too stupid to recognize the obvious.  This product does not contain the drug cocaine (duh).  This product is not intended to be an alternative to an illicit street drug, and anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot."

Perhaps I should of read the warning first.

Just that passage alone bumped the packaging score up a bit and managed to get a good laugh from me.  Also on the can they have nutritional information (which they actually listed the caffeine amount) and a little diagram that states there are 3 and a half bull heads worth of caffeine in the drink (Hmm wonder what company this is a jab at).

Taste:  The taste of the 2 drinks were unique enough that I will divide this section to cover both.

Cocaine:  The flavor starts off with a nice fruity taste that is good without being overly sweet.  Almost exactly when the flavor hits your tongue the first bit of heat to the drink rears it's head.  After I swallowed the first sip of Cocaine the hot part of the drink really became apparent. The best way I can sum up this drink is like a fruit punch with a Red Hot candy finish.   I actually enjoyed it quite a bit.

Cocaine Mild:  In Cocaine Mild they dropped the Spicy Hot aspect that made the original so unique.  Luckily they still have the fantastic fruit flavored drink that was the base of the original.  I really enjoyed the spicy part of the original but by leaving it out in the mild version it made for a drink that went down smoothly.

Does It Work:  The kick on both varieties of Cocaine were the same.  Powering each can is 280 mg of caffeine (that is crazy for an 8 oz drink), 750 mg of taurine, 100 mg of inositol, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, vitamin C, l-carnitine, and d-ribose.  Along with the very nice energy blend there are 70 calories and 18g of sugar per can.   Both of these drink do not play around.  At almost 300 mg of caffeine, most people should probably start with just half a can so they don't end up wired as hell.  I did learn one important lesson though from Cocaine:  Cocaine should not be consumed if you work in an office environment.  There is simply not enough stuff to keep you busy and 280 mg of caffeine will make you want to do a bunch of things and do them quickly.  I would recommend this drink for outside of the workplace.

Overall Thoughts:  I am very happy to of finally scored some Cocaine energy drinks.  After trying both flavors I can easily recommend that you should try them if you are able to find them.  Cocaine gets the Caffeine A Holic seal of approval.
