Jolt Energy Gum Icymint

Anyone that knows me knows that I have a love for all things caffeinated.  Last week a friend of mine picked me up some Jolt Energy Gum which I had never had.  I am a huge fan of Jolt so I was pretty excited.

The Look:  Jolt Energy Gum comes in a cardboard packaging similar to a bunch of energy gums hitting the market.  The front of the package has the word JOLT with a lightning bolt going through the "O".  They also list the flavor, some key ingredients, and have a little diagram depicting the strength of the gum. On the back there is nothing special just nutritional information and an ingredient list.

Taste:  Jolt was smart about choosing mint for the flavoring.  The flavor is listed as Icymint and it has a very nice mint flavor too it.  There is absolutely no bitterness or any bad aftertaste in Jolt Energy Gum.  The mint is not overpowering and really makes for a nice gum.

Does It Work:  Sadly Jolt doesn't list the caffeine amount or any of the other ingredient amounts on the package.  All I can find on the package is the little diagram saying 2 pieces equals 1 energy drink and on the back they use the cup of coffee comparison.  I am going to guess there is about 80 mg of caffeine for 2 pieces.  After chewing two pieces I got a nice alertness that was about average with no crash.

Overall Thoughts:  Energy gums are a great product.  You can bring a pack almost anywhere and get a quick boost of caffeine into your system rather quickly.  Jolt Gum is pretty good.  I think the flavor is better than a bunch of gums out there and the kick is mild (which works great in certain situations).  If you manage to find some Jolt Gum then I easily recommend trying it.

PS: I actually live in Canada, where there are less products.

One piece has 12.7 milligrams of caffeine according to Energy Fiend and a lab test done by Vroom Foods.
