Monster Import Light

Today I was on my way home and decided to stop by a gas station that I rarely stop at.  I was browsing the energy drink selection( like I usually do when I go inside the gas station) when I spotted the new Monster Import Light. I grabbed it from the shelf, paid for it, and immediately opened up in the car.

The Look:  I love the look of the original Monster Import and I think this one is even better.  On the front there is the bird holding a crest with a giant blue "M" on it.  There is a banner underneath that that says "Import"  On the top of the can they have the most innovative lid to a can I have ever seen.  You simply rotate the top to open it and then you can turn it the other way to reseal it.  I am very surprised other companies have not picked up on this design yet.  On the back they have a neat passage about Monster Import Light as well as the usual nutritional information.  The only flaw I can find is the caffeine amount is not listed anywhere on the can.
(9.5 out of 10) The can really looks that nice

Taste: When I opened the can I could tell they modeled the flavor after the original Monster Import.  They basically managed to take the original Import and cut the sugar and calories and come up with a healthier version.  I think this taste even better than the Monster Absolutely Zero because there is even less gumminess.  If you are looking for a low carb energy drink then this is another great option from Monster.

Does It Work:  The blend is your typical Monster Energy Blend with no surprises here.  Each can has 57 calories, almost 14g of carbs, 4 different B vitamins, 2300 mg of taurine, ginseng, 184 mg of caffeine, and a few other typical ingredients.  Bottom line is they took what has worked for them and used it here.  The buzz is slightly above average and there is no crash involved.  If you like the kick from Monster drinks you will not be disappointed.

Overall Thoughts:  I think one of the reasons that people get excited over new drinks from Monster is because they are usually pretty good (Monster Import Light is no exception).  The packaging is top notch and it is one of the best I have seen.  If you are looking for a low carb drink that you can find almost anywhere this will be a great choice.  If you get the chance to try any of the new Monsters let me know your thoughts and opinions.
