Golazo is different than your traditional energy drink. They label themselves a "Sports Energy Drink" that combines energy and hydration. The concept for the drink came when the company was talking to soccer players. Apparently the players were mixing Gatorade and Red Bull so that they could get a nice energy boost and stay hydrated at the same time. I think the concept is great because usually when I am completely dehydrated an energy drink does not hit the spot at all. Let's see if Golazo can deliver.
The Look: One of Golazo's target market is soccer players. Which is a smart move considering they are a group that will really need the energy and hydration. The can is done in a white, black, and green color scheme. On the front of the can they have a crest with a bird carrying a snake in it's mouth and underneath that there is a graphic of a soccer ball. On the back of the can there is nutritional information as well as a few facts about the drink. The slogan on the front is "Born to score" and it ties in very nicely with the soccer theme. They even listed the caffeine amount on the can which is always a huge plus in my book.

Taste: Taste is an important category for a drink that supposedly hydrates and energizes. The drink is very lightly carbonated so it is easy to drink rather quickly. The taste of the drink is a mix of mango with a hint of lemon or lime following. Golazo is very smooth and did a great job at quenching my thirst.

Does It Work: I could tell immediately after drinking the can that Golazo delivered in the hydration department. I was no longer thirsty and I noticed a slight boost in alertness as well. The buzz is easily on par with a Red Bull and the potassium is a welcome addition to the drink.. Powering each can of Golazo there is only 90 calories, 21g of sugar, multiple B vitamins, potassium, d-ribose, yerba mate, taurine, 100 mg of caffeine, and guarana seed extract. In terms of just buzz this is about average but the added ingredients to help you stay hydrated bump it up slightly on score.

Overall Thoughts: This is a great drink that any active person should check out. The taste is original and the concept is very well executed. I see these drink catching on very quickly among not only soccer players but other sports players as well.
