NERD Sugar Free

Shortly after reviewing NERD, I found out there was a sugar free version.  Luckily I was able to get some samples for review.  Let's see if the sugar free version of NERD can provide the same great mental alertness as the original but without the carbs.

The Look:  The can is almost identical to the version with sugar with a few differences.  The first major difference is they used a blue color scheme instead of a green.  This works great as a nice way to separate the sugared version from the sugar free version.  They also note that it is a 0 calorie drink on the front and that it is sweetened with stevia. On the back there is nutritional information as well as a nice breakdown of some of the unique ingredients.  I like the green color scheme slightly better but this one still looks very slick.

Taste:  One of the things I liked about the original NERD was the nice syrupy citrus flavor it had.  Luckily for me the sugar free variety has that same great flavor to it.  This might be a little to syrupy for some but I found it very good.  The drink still taste very sweet and has no aftertaste.

Does It Work:  Remember one of the unique things about NERD is the ingredient list it offers.  You still get all the energy drink goodies inside like caffeine (120mg per can), taurine, a bunch of B vitamins, guarana, ginseng panax, and l-carnitine.  Along with the great energy blend you also get what they label their focus, concentration, and memory formula (vinpocetine, huperzine a, DMAE, and Chinese ginkgo biloba).  I got the same great alertness and mental focus that I received from the original.  Great job.

Overall Thoughts:  If you are looking for a tasty, sugar free energy drink then this is a good choice.  This is a drink you can feel like you are not only doing your body good by skipping out on the calories but you can feel like you are doing good things for your brain with all these extra ingredients.  You can check them out on the web at the NERD Blog where you can buy some and read a bit more about it.  As a college student and someone that relies on thinking a bunch at work, I give the NERD brand my thumbs up.
